Eivind Olav Andersen
Technical Director, Veidekke
Eivind has worked in the road construction industry since 1990, specialising in asphalt technology and bitumen, initially in research and then as Technical Manager for Shell Bitumen in the Nordics. In 2008, he joined Norwegian construction firm Veidekke, where he is now Technical Director, with responsibility for bitumen procurement, hedging and bitumen operations.
Eivind has worked in the road construction industry since 1990, specialising in asphalt technology and bitumen, initially in research and then as Technical Manager for Shell Bitumen in the Nordics. Carlos is an Industrial Engineer with a master’s degree in refining, petrochemicals and gas. He has over 10 years’ experience in trading, operations, project management and consulting. After working in different roles at Repsol’s Tarragona refinery, he joined the heavy products trading desk and is now responsible for bitumen trading.

He has been reporting on European and African bitumen and asphalt markets since 2009, editing the Europe/Africa section of the weekly Argus Asphalt Report, and subsequently Argus Bitumen, and helping to enhance the publication. Before joining Argus, Keyvan spent 10 years as a Senior Energy Correspondent with Reuters news agency in London before it was merged to form Thomson Reuters. At Reuters, Keyvan reported on physical and swaps markets for the full spectrum of oil products and led a team of products reporters. He previously reported on the petrochemicals and oil products markets at the London office of Dow Jones.

Lloyd Thomas is Senior Vice-President, Consulting Services, based in our London office. He leads the global Argus Consulting Services team and provides oversight of Argus’ consulting activities within Europe. Lloyd joined Argus in 2011 as Head of European Consulting and has been instrumental in the development and expansion of the consulting division. He was promoted to Global Head of Consulting in 2017. He has been closely involved in the majority of Consulting projects conducted within Europe, including a large number related to the storage industry. These have helped to define new strategies for existing assets, supported investment cases for new assets and provided assurance around acquisitions and divestment's. Prior to joining Argus, Lloyd led the global research and advisory team at Energy Intelligence Group. Earlier in his career, he spent over 11 years as a management and strategy consultant in the energy practices at Deloitte and Ernst & Young. During this time he worked with a wide range of energy, utilities and infrastructure clients, helping to deliver strategy, performance improvement and large-scale capital programmes.

Graduate in chemistry and MBA, currently one of the principals investigators of the MIT project Mastering Asphalt performance Javier is part of Ferrovial being Managing Director of Ditecpesa Asphalt Products, which is one of the most important bitumen sellers and manufacturers of polymer modified bitumen and bitumen emulsions in Spain. He began his career in Ditecpesa’s technical department in 1997, and subsequently worked in the company’s industrial, financial and commercial departments before taking on his current role. Javier has also helped manage the purchase of asphalt products for Ditecpesa’s parent company Ferrovial for projects throughout the world, focusing on the technological development of pavements and associated environmental concerns. Javier has outstanding knowledge of the construction and operation facilities of asphalt products including bitumen terminals, polymer modified bitumen and emulsion plants. He is also a specialist in climate change, content strategy and industrial health and safety. Recently has led the development of the first smart asphalt pavement for Steering in Self-Driving Cars.
