Bioenergy Europe is the voice of European bioenergy. It aims to develop a sustainable bioenergy market based on fair business conditions. Founded in 1990, Bioenergy Europe is a non-profit, Brussels-based international organisation bringing together 41 associations and 143 companies, as well as academia and research institutes from across Europe.

USIPA - The US Industrial Pellet Association
USIPA is a not-for-profit trade association promoting sustainability and safety practices within the US wood energy industry. We advocate for the wood energy sector as a smart solution to climate change, and we support renewable energy policy development around the globe. Our members represent all aspects of the wood pellet export industry, including pellet producers, traders, equipment manufacturers, bulk shippers, and service providers. USIPA was formed 2011 by several industry founders, including Enviva, Georgia Biomass, and The Westervelt Company.

Wood Pellet Association of Canada
The Wood Pellet Association of Canada is a member-driven organization advancing the interests of Canadian wood pellet producers. Our goal is to help members grow through promoting the role of wood pellets in the Canadian and global markets, supporting market and technical research, and encouraging fair and open energy trade. Membership is open to Canadian pellet producers, as well as suppliers and partners (associate membership).

European Pellet Council (EPC)
The European Pellet Council (EPC) is the voice of the wood pellet sector in Europe. Its members are national pellet associations or related organisations from 18 countries. EPC was founded in 2010 and is a network of Bioenergy Europe. EPC is the platform of the European pellet sector dedicated to solving the issues attached to the transition from a niche product to a major energy commodity ranging from standardisation and certification through to the quality of pellet-using devices amongst others. EPC manages the ENplus® scheme; the world leading wood pellet quality scheme.

International Biomass Torrefaction Council (IBTC)
The International Biomass Torrefaction Council (IBTC) is a Brussels based international platform founded in 2012, which brings together more than 20 companies from all over the world. IBTC was founded by Bioenergy Europe and resulted from the joint efforts of major torrefied biomass stakeholders who decided to create a discussion platform of companies with similar interests. IBTC was also initiated in collaboration with the Dutch Torrefaction Association (DTA). IBTC is a unique network connecting all companies with a shared interest in torrefaction and solid biofuels, connecting industry players and academia for undertaking actions to drive forward torrefied biomass

AIEL, the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association
AIEL, the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association, is the association of companies operating along the wood-energy supply chain: from producers of wood biofuels (wood, wood chips, pellets) to producers of technologies to transform these biofuels into heat and energy (stoves, inserts fireplace, boilers, cogeneration groups). The aim is to guarantee the correct and sustainable energy valorisation of agroforestry biomasses, in particular wood biofuels at all levels, from the forest to the fireplace.

LATbio
The Latvian biomass association „LATbio” was established on the 25th of February in year 2008 as a non-profit organization. LATbio is the largest biomass association in Latvia uniting Latvian companies and stakeholders which are active in the biomass industry. We are advocating for the bioenergy. The main goals of the association are to: promote the usage of biomass in the energy production, to achieve higher independence of the economy and energy production of Latvia; publicly promote information about biomass availability and usage aspects; support the development of scientific research in the field of the renewable energy.

ENplus®
ENplus® is the world-leading quality certification scheme for wood pellets that systematically certifies the entire supply chain, from the early stages of production to the delivery process. The ENplus® requirements go beyond those of the international standard ISO 17225-2 to guarantee optimum efficiency. In addition, all actors along the supply chain follow detailed guidelines to ensure consistent quality. In more than a decade of existence, the ENplus® scheme has certified more than 1200 companies in 48 countries and has become a widely recognized brand, trusted by professionals and consumers alike.

SURE
The Sustainable Resources Verification Scheme (SURE) is an international certification system that is intended to ensure the sustainability of biomass usage for electricity and heat generation in accordance with the standard set by EU Directive 2018/2001/EC (“RED II”) and to document the corresponding greenhouse gas savings. SURE is aimed at biomass (cogeneration) power plants, biogas and biomethane plant operators, and all of the economic operators in the upstream chains.

Bioenergy Insight
Since its launch in 2010, Bioenergy Insight has swiftly built up a reputation for delivering quality news, analysis, market information and technical articles relating to the biomass, biogas and biopower industries. Published six times a year to coincide with leading industry events, it provides ideas and insights for its audience of bioenergy professionals. It is targeted at companies producing biomass fuel in the form of pellets and briquettes, and those using biomass fuel to produce CHP, biogas, biopower, chemicals, heat and liquid biofuels.
