Eivind has worked in the road construction industry since 1990, specialising in asphalt technology and bitumen, initially in research and then as Technical Manager for Shell Bitumen in the Nordics. In 2008, he joined Norwegian construction firm Veidekke, where he is now Technical Director, with responsibility for bitumen procurement, hedging and bitumen operations.

After working in Asia, where he led the affiliates of a multinational classification and certification group, he joined Alma Petroli, an oil refining and bitumen producing company based in Ravenna, Italy, in 2016. He served as General Manager until May 2018 and is now Chief Executive of the company.

Jean-Bernard Duchoud holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Science and Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has also undertaken various postgraduate courses. After working with a major engineering company in Basel, he developed and implemented a new maintenance strategy for the Swiss motorway network. After five years by the Swiss Federal Road Office, he was entrusted with leading the Controlling of Investments department. This was followed by a move to the Technical Support section. In 2015 he was appointed head of the Road Infrastructure division, promoted to Deputy Director and became a member of the executive board of the Swiss Federal Road Office. Jean-Bernard is a member of the Central Committee of Regulations at the SIA — the Swiss society of engineers and architects — and of the board of the Sustainable Construction Network Switzerland.

He is the author of many books, more than 350 scientific and technical papers, and holds various patents. Carlo is currently employed as an expert on gas, petroleum and petrochemicals by the Italian Ministry of public works, and is also a director of Italy’s Asphalt Review journal.
