Francisco Xavier Salazar Díez de Sollano is a founding partner at Trust Inteligencia de Entorno, SC, and Enix, SC. Trust is a Mexican consulting firm specialized in socio political risk management for the industry while Enix is specialized in energy regulation. He is also the Coordinator of the International Confederation of Regulators (ICER). In 2016, he was appointed as the first “Institute of the Americas Regional Energy Integration Non-Resident Fellow” and as executive fellow at the School of Public Policy of the University of Calgary. During 2015-2017, he was Chair of the Mexican Chapter of the World Energy Council (WEC). In 2017 he became a member of COMEXI, the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations From 2005 to 2015, he served as Chairman of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) time during which he was an active promoter of energy reform in Mexico. During 2011-2015 he chaired the Ibero-American Energy Regulators Association (ARIAE). Prior to being a regulator, he was a congressman for two terms. In Congress he served as a Chairman of the Energy Committee at the Chamber of Deputies. At the beginning of his professional career, he also was involved in the Chemical Sector. Mr. Salazar holds an MSc in Public Financial Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, and Diploma studies in Law and Economics from other universities. He has taught courses on Public Finance and Monetary Economics at local universities in San Luis Potosi, and written on the use of economic instruments in environmental public policy, as well as on energy policy and regulation. Mr. Salazar has also participated as member of editorial boards from major newspapers and business magazines in Mexico.

Ernesto Anguiano Sánchez is the EVP Commercial with Ferromex and received his bachelor in business administration with more than 20 years of experience in different industries as Logistics, Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Financial. Mr Anguiano is currently responsible for the Oil&Gas, Chemicals & Fertilizers areas in Grupo Mexico Transportes, Ferromex, and was recently appointed as Commercial Director of IMEX (Terminals and last-mile business unit). For the last three years in Grupo Mexico Transportes has closed several long-term contracts with the main companies from the Chemical industry. In 2017, to seize the opportunities from the Energy Reform, he signed one of the main contracts to supply refined products from Veracruz to inland terminals as Mexico City Region and Puebla. In addition, Mr Anguiano has been an active member of the Grupo Mexico initiative to expand its oil-by-rail business by building at least three storage terminals in Mexico. Grupo Mexico Transportes, Ferromex, operates rail lines in Mexico, Texas and Florida, and is the mayor railroad in Mexico with a 66% of the market share of rail cargo.

Rosanety se desarrolló en el sector financiero mexicano de 1985 a 1998 como analista bursátil. A partir del año 2000 y hasta el 2013, trabajó en la Comisión Reguladora de Energía, en donde estuvo a cargo de las áreas de transporte de gas natural y gas licuado de petróleo. En el 2013 se incorporó a la Secretaría de Energía como Directora General de Generación y Transmisión Eléctrica. Un año después ocupó la posición de Jefa de la Unidad de Políticas de Transformación Industrial. Otro logro de su gestión, y que tuvo gran alcance en los medios, fue su iniciativa de un código de ética de siete puntos del sector gasolinero, que fue signado por las principales empresas, en presencia de las máximas autoridades. En la Cumbre México, edición 55 del Congreso de la Comisión Latinoamericana de Empresarios de Combustibles (CLAEC) celebrada en Octubre del 2018, designó presidente pro témpore de la CLAEC a Roberto Díaz de León, cargo que ocupo hasta la edición 46 del Congreso Celebrado en Bolivia éste año.

Ron created the BYOethanol campaign with the Renewable Fuels Association to provide E85 and blender pump information to marketers across the US, and has taken part in US Grains Council workshops in Mexico. Ron has 40 years’ experience in the fuel business and opened the US’ first retail E85 fuelling site in 1992. He was also instrumental in one of the nation’s first tests of soy biodiesel a year later, storing and delivering fuel for Sioux Falls Transit buses.

He is currently collaborating with scientists and bio-fuel experts over the roll-out of E10 nationwide and the lifting of restrictions on blending E10 in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey. Jorge has authored several scientific and legal papers on fuel ethanol, addressing distribution and handling, economic advantages, and environmental, health and social impacts, and he is contributing to efforts to develop Mexico’s infrastructure for handling cleaner fuels. Prior to ACELA, Edward worked for six years at chemical company LyondellBasell and was the primary Legal support for the Latin America businesses. He has extensive knowledge of the petrochemical industry in Latin America and was an integral part of the LyondellBasell teams that formed ACELA. Edward received his MBA from the University of Texas in Austin. He also holds a BA in economics from Rice University and a law degree from the University of Houston.

Before founding Monterra, Michael was a founder partner of Remvest Energy Partners, which focused on energy investments and advisory services in Latin America. He has 20 years’ experience of the global energy sector — covering exploration, production and oilfield services — with substantial involvement in Latin America. As Senior Operations and Corporate Planning Co-ordinator for Remora Energy, Michael oversaw expansion in Colombia, including the launch of oilfields, exploration and appraisal wells, and asset management across 10 blocks, and then a divestiture program in 2011. Before his time at Remora, he held executive roles at private and publicly traded global oilfield services companies. He has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Calgary, Canada.

Louise Burke leads the development of the aviation fuels business at Argus Media. She has worked closely on a global level supporting airline and supplier initiatives, and has specialized in providing key support on value integration in the supply chain. As Global Head of the aviation business development team, she works across all regional teams in Asia, Europe and the Americas to support the needs of the market. Louise began her professional career in the energy industry, working for major oil corporations — Mobil Oil Canada, and Alberta Energy Company, in Canada; and Petroleos De Venezuela in New York. She performed both short and long-term analyses of energy prices and market trends. She then worked in the financial energy futures and options industry as Vice-President for the New York Mercantile Exchange (now CME group) during its rapid growth in the 1990s. She supervised major energy and metals futures and options contract launches and supported the efforts of the World Bank and the US Agency for International Development to develop free markets and hedging programs in commodity-sensitive countries. Louise has a degree in economics from the University of Alberta and an MBA from New York University. She is President of the Board of Directors of The Energy Forum, a non-profit organization designed to increase understanding of energy issues, and is a member of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).
